Welcome to the Department of Nursing at the California State University, Long Beach! The student is the center of our focus,where diversity, internationalism and transculturalism in student and faculty are sought, valued and nurtured. Our graduates are much sought after for employment.
We educate professional nurses at the Baccalaureate level to practice in collaborative or leadership roles in hospitals, clinics and community health care agencies, and at the Masters degree level, students are prepared for advanced practice roles such as, nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, nurse educators, nurse executives and leaders in public health nursing.
The Department of Nursing is nationally and internationally recognized for its excellence in nursing education and quality of its faculty. Our Baccalaureate and Masters degree Programs have been awarded full national accreditation by the Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing and state accreditation by the California Board of Registered Nursing.
The CSULB Department of Nursing is a student-centered program whose mission is to educate undergraduate and graduate students to become quality professionals for entry into practice in diverse community settings.
