To meet the demands of the world of today, Brenau University Department of Nursing has several paths to success in nursing, from the traditional (The Women’s College) to the high-tech (Online RN-BSN). The different programs offer great flexibility to meet your needs as you prepare for your rewarding and fulfilling career in Nursing.
The full time baccalaureate nursing program at Brenau was created in 1978 by a merger of the Hall School of Nursing and Brenau College. Graduates receive a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree and qualify to sit for the National Council Licensing Examination (NCLEX) to become registered nurses.
In 2003, the Department of Nursing admitted the first students to our part-time baccalaureate nursing program. Meeting the needs of working adults, this program provides nursing classes two evenings a week with clinical experiences every other weekend. Graduates receive a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree and qualify to sit for NCLEX to become registered nurses.
The RN-BSN program began in 1988. This program was developed for registered nurses to complete a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. Designed for working RNs, this program is offered online.
The graduate program leading to a Masters Degree for Family Nurse Practitioners began in 1995. The graduate program expanded in 2006 to include a MSN Nurse Educator degree.
